Furniture store – Córdoba (Argentina)

Commercial space renovation · Furniture store · Córdoba (Argentina).

The premises were a small industrial building that had functioned as a workshop. The space had the character and volume, but not the conditions to become a furniture store: it was necessary to update the facilities, adapt the finishes and prepare it to receive the public, pieces and tours.

The intervention focused on making the space comfortable without losing its industrial soul. New facilities and lighting designed for exhibition, not just for “viewing”, were incorporated. The walls were regularized and resistant, easy-to-maintain and consistent materials with the activity were defined.

The client’s key need was to have a closed office, independent of the showroom. In order not to sacrifice exhibition space, it was decided to place the office high up, as a compact piece that concentrates internal work and frees up the ground floor. This decision orders the program, gives hierarchy to the space and improves the general reading of the premises.

On the ground floor, the exhibition is more open and flexible, with clear routes and flexible areas depending on the collections. Upstairs, the office functions as a discreet control point, separate but visually connected to the store’s activity.

The result is a spacious and bright store, with a warm atmosphere inside an industrial container. A space ready to change over time, without losing order or calm. And yes, now the old workshop no longer “makes noise”, but it tells a better story.
